Yokosuka Hybrid LPWA Testbed - Mt. Ogusu Base Station is ready to use now!
Yokosuka Telecom Research Park, Inc. (YRP, Inc.) has launched "Yokosuka Hybrid LPWA Testbed" last year to provide wireless sensor network testing environment for IoT servies enabling simultaneous use of different types of LPWA network at one site.
This time, the 3rd “Hybrid LPWA Base Station” for the Testbed has been constructed on the summit of Mt. Ogusu, the highest peak of Miura Peninsular (242 meters above the sea level) , and now, in Yokosuka City, the “Hybrid LPWA Base Station” is operating in three locations, the roof of the YRP Center Building No. 1 and the roof of the Yokosuka City Hall and the summit of Mt. Ogusu. At these spots, the LPWA networks of SigFox, ELTRES, LoRaWAN, LoRa, and Wi-SUN are available in a hybrid environment.

The 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC 2019)

YRP R&D Promotion Committee (YRP Committee) and National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) will co-host the 22nd International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC 2019) in Lisbon, Portugal, from 24 to 27 November 2019, in cooperation with Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), and other Portuguese partners.

On 29-31 May 2019, YRP Committee, NICT, and YRP Academia Collaboration Network co-hosted the Wireless Technology Park (WTP) 2019 in Tokyo Big Sight.
This year, under the main theme of "Shaping a new society with wireless technology - Beginning of 5G -," the seminars and exhibits in WTP2019 focused on following keywords: Society 5.0, 5G & Beyond 5G, IoT (Internet of Things), Satellite/Indoor Positioning, Location Information, Wireless technology/system for factory use, Millimeter-wave/ Terahertz-wave technology, and Communications technology for drones, etc.
The number of the visitors to the event was approx. 57,000 including the visitors to the co-located events: "Wireless Japan 2019", "Transport System Expo 2019", and "International Drone Expo 2019." We are grateful to all the visitors and all people concerned in the event.

The Activity Report and the Statement of Account for the FY2018 and Activity Plan and Budget for the FY2019 had been proposed and approved.
