Wireless Technology Park (WTP) 2017
 "5G & IoT - Creating New Value“

24-26 May 2017, Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo

Wireless Technology Park (WTP) 2017, one of the biggest annual events in Japan specially focused on wireless communicaitons technology, will be held on 24-26 May 2017 in Tokyo Big Sight under the co-sponsorship of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), YRP R&D Promotion Committee, and YRP Academia Collaboration Network.

Under the main theme of “5G & IoT - Creating New Value," seminars and exhibitions in WTP2017 features the technologies of 5G, IoT, Positioning, ITS, Offshore & Undersea Communication Technology, Telecommunication for Drone & Robot, Wireless Technology & System for Factory Use, Terahertz-wave sensing & communication, etc. Pavilions, special exhibition zones, and various seminars are planned to welcome experts of wireless technologies.

WTP 2017 International Day is planned on the 2nd day, 25 May 2017!
WTP International Day is again planned as a special program organized for promoting new international business collaborations and exchanges between exhibitors and visitors. On this day, English explanation will be available in major exhibition boothes, and you can also enjoy the International Session, in which foreign companies and organizations will present their remarkable activities, technologies, and products that support next-generation, wireless communications. Please mark this day on your calendar.

Event Report

The 17th APT Training Course "Actions for Next and New Generation Mobile Communications Systems"

7-14 December 2016, Tokyo-Kanagawa-YRP

YRP R&D Promotion Committee, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and Yokosuka Telecom Research Park, Inc. co-hosted the 17th APT Training Course “Actions for Next and New Generation Mobile Communications Systems” from 7 to 14 December 2016, in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and YRP, under the auspices of the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB).

This APT training course is provided by the Japan's special budgetary contribution to APT with an aim to contribute to the human resource development in Asian and Pacific countries. This year, we welcomed 11 participants from communication authorities, telecom operators, and related research institution of 11 APT member countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tonga, and Vietnam.

YRP participated in IoT Technology 2016
held concurrently with Embedded Technology2016

16-18 November 2016, Pacifico Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan

YRP R&D Promotion Committee and Wireless Smart Utility Network (WSN) Promotion Committee participated in the exhibition event of “IoT Technology 2016” held concurrently with “Embedded Technology 2016,” an event focused on the embedded systems technology, during 16-18 November 2016 in Pacifico Yokohama, Japan.

In IoT Technology 2016, a special exhibition zone named “Evolving Wi-SUN Applications -YRP R&D Promotion Committee/WSN Promotion Committee” was set up to introduce concrete examples of Wi-SUN applications developed by member companies.

The 19th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications 2016 (WPMC2016)

14-16 November 2016, Shenzhen, China

The 19th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC2016) was held in Shenzhen, China, from 13 to 16 November 2016, under the co-sponsorship of the National Institutes of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and YRP R&D Promotion Committee (YRP).

Under the theme of “Interconnecting Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications,” the WPMC2016 was held in cooperation with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), China. Total number of attendees was around 200, and 95 adopted papers were presented. After the plenary talks, sessions were given under key technical themes in addition to the NICT’s special workshops on technologies and activities towards the next generation ICT infrastructures.
